What I Will Fight For?

Beyond my two main projects, this page lays out the other fights I’ll take on for Park X: stronger tenant support, cleaner and safer streets, winter sidewalk safety and creating more social housing.

Stronger Tenant Support

Clean blocks shouldn’t be a luxury. I’ll push for scheduled alley clean-ups, sealed bins where dumping is chronic, faster 311 follow-ups, night audits to fix lighting and potholes, and steady ticketing for repeat offenders.

  • Inspection blitzes + fines. Lead targeted building-standards inspections and demand quick remediation under Montréal’s housing sanitation/maintenance by-law (03-096) including pests, heat, mold, broken services and publish results so owners feel pressure to comply. ville.montreal.qc.ca

  • Proactive pest control. Tie construction/demolition permits to proof of extermination plans and coordinate borough-wide rodent measures (sealed bins, drain fixes, alley cleanups) using the city’s rat-control program playbook. Montreal

  • Anti-displacement tools. Push to extend the city’s pre-emptive right zones in Park X so Montréal can buy key sites/plexes first for community projects and non-profit housing.  Pre-emptive right | Ville de Montréal

Cleaner and Safer Streets

No one should live with mold, pests, or broken services. I’ll lead targeted inspections, hold negligent landlords accountable, set up a tenant help desk to navigate 311 and legal referrals, and back non-profit housing partners to protect residents from displacement.

  • Cleanliness calendar. Launch recurring alley and hotspot cleanups (posted publicly), add lidded bins where dumping is chronic, and step up ticketing for overflowing/loose trash. Pair with pest-control actions above. Montreal

  • Lighting & quick fixes. Focus on to add/repair lights, fill potholes, and remove graffiti.

  • Vision Zero traffic calming. Table and vote for speed bumps, raised crosswalks, curb extensions and safer school zones.  Montreal+1carsp.ca

Winter Sidewalk Safety

Everyone deserves safe, passable sidewalks after every snowfall. We will use borough motions, services standard, and contract tools to keep school routes, transit stops, and seniors’ buildings clear and accessible.

  • Keep crossings open, no windrows: Issue an operations directive to prohibit snowbanks at crosswalks, daylight corners for visibility, and check curb cuts after each pass.

  • Live storm dashboard + 311 tag: Publish a public map showing last pass times; add a Park X “PX-SNOW” 311 tag to escalate missed segments to a supervisor within 4 hours.

Help Speed Social housing

Social Housing (Park-Extension) everyone deserves a stable, affordable home. As a city councillor, I will use city votes, borough motions, and partnerships to build, buy, and protect homes people can actually afford in Park X.

  • Secure sites for non-market housing: Expand and use the City’s right of first refusal in Park-Ex to acquire key lots and plexes, then bank land for co-ops and non-profits.

  • Make new projects include affordable and family units: Apply Montréal’s inclusion rules (Métropole mixte) so medium and large developments deliver social, affordable, and three-bedroom homes in Park X

  • Protect what we have: Prioritize inspections and tighten permit conditions to deter renovictions; support non-profits to purchase aging buildings with long-term affordability agreements.
